Adiacenze Opens New Bologna Space with Irene Fenara Installation

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Adiacenze, the Bologna-based cultural association led by Amerigo Mariotti and Daniela Tozzi, has opened a new exhibition space in a large house at Vicolo Spirito Santo 1/B in central Bologna, six years after its founding. The venue debuts with an environmental installation titled "Se il cielo fugge" by Irene Fenara, featuring sound design by Francesco Privato. The space is conceived as a hybrid, dynamic environment where emerging contemporary art merges with experimental practices in publishing, illustration, comics, and design. A key new initiative is Officina Adiacenze, a project in collaboration with Andrea Benei and the Genoa-based publisher GRRRz Comic Art Books, focused on presenting notable artists in comics and illustration. The opening program runs through July 2016 and includes a sound performance by Francesco Privato on May 17; a presentation of "Homemade2" by Yesenia Trobbiani curated by Maison Ventidue from May 19 to 23; the exhibition "Il compianto" by PetriPaselli curated by Adiacenze from May 26 to June 4; "Que reste-t-il" by Laura Renna with a critical text by Ilaria Bignotti from June 10 to 25; "Symposio" by Federica Falancia curated by Federica Patti from June 30 to July 14; and "Rature. Spazio del possibile. Azione N_3" by Alisia Cruciani curated by Michele Gentili from July 21 to September 10. The association aims to function as a 360-degree creative hub, fostering workshops, presentations, and performative events as a factory of cultural innovation.
