ADI Design Index 2024: All Compasso d'Oro Candidates on Show in Milan
The ADI Design Index 2024, a selection of the year's best design projects by over one hundred experts, is on display at the ADI Design Museum in Milan until November 17. The exhibition showcases a wide range of works, from AI-designed furniture to sustainable materials and inclusive products. Notable projects include the A.I.Lounge armchair by Philippe Starck for Kartell, created with an algorithm; the Folio table by Draw Studio for De Castelli, a modular architectural piece; the Flow sink by Paolo Ulian for Antoniolupi, which turns marble's water-jet defect into a feature; Licheni vases by Rosaria Copeta and Stefania Galante, made from unsold stoneware colonized by lichens; the Câlin door handle by Alessandro Corina Studio for Mandelli1953, with an integrated rubber bumper; a textured lamp inspired by Milanese fog by Park Associati and Delta Light; the IlCargo&Share electric cargo scooter by César Mendoza for Nito; Athena safety shoes for women by Cristian Ardissono for Diadora Utility, developed with the Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia; Sete carafe and glasses by Giulio Iacchetti for Pandora Design, made from recycled single-use plastic; and the Emersivi platform by Orografie for scouting young designers under 35. The index reflects the pervasiveness of design as a tool for transformation across diverse categories, from products to processes.
