Adelita Husni-Bey's Decade-Long Survey 'Adunanza' at Galleria Civica Modena

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Adelita Husni-Bey (born 1985, Milan) presents 'Adunanza,' a comprehensive survey of her last ten years at Palazzina dei Giardini in Modena, curated by Diana Baldon and Serena Goldoni. The exhibition gathers around fifty works, including installations, videos, photographic series, and drawings, emphasizing the artist's research into radical pedagogy and collective thought processes. Unlike her previous workshop-based projects, 'Adunanza' focuses on the documentation of those encounters as finished artworks. Key pieces include 'Postcard from the Desert Island' (2011), created with children from École Vitruve in Paris; 'Glass Dome' and 'Public Garden' (2018), commissioned by MoMA for 'The Council' series; 'Shower' (2013); and 'Encounters on pain' (2015), a series of large drawings tracing participants' bodies to explore the social and political origins of physical pain. The show runs at Galleria Civica, Palazzina dei Giardini, Modena, in 2018.
