Addict Ameba's 'Souvlaki' Video Unites Continents with Multietnic Sound

publication · 2026-04-27

The Addict Ameba, a ten-member music collective based in Milan with diverse backgrounds in afro, latin, psych, and jazz, release their first official music video 'Souvlaki' ahead of their debut EP 'Panamor' on Black Sweat Records, due July 10. The video, directed by graphic designer Simone Brillarelli of Almagreal studio, uses rotoscoping and hand-painted textures to blend individual performances into a single organic mass, symbolizing a 'sonic Pangea'. Brillarelli, also co-author of the visual identity for Mercato Centrale in Florence and Rome, shot each musician separately during lockdown, then combined four layers per performer into a unified, erratic sonic entity. The EP's title 'Panamor' is a neologism reflecting deep connection in a divided world.
