Adam Tempesta Creates Comic for Doctor Friend During Lockdown

Italian illustrator and cartoonist Adam Tempesta (born 1992 in Turin) created an original comic titled "Il mio amico medico" (My Doctor Friend) for Artribune during the COVID-19 quarantine. The comic is dedicated to his childhood friend Luca, a doctor fighting the pandemic. Tempesta, a member of the Eris Edizioni team, describes his work as exploring everyday experiences, especially the small ones that hide great surprises. During lockdown, he continues working from home in Turin, noting the city's psychedelic atmosphere and the closure of Porta Palazzo market, Europe's largest open-air market, which affected his neighborhood. He had to abandon projects for Milan's Salone del Mobile due to its postponement. Tempesta completed his second self-published work, "Carambola Dormiente," to be released after the crisis, and is working on a daily comic set in nighttime Turin for his Instagram profile. The comic for Artribune depicts his long friendship with Luca, whom he considers a "big brother" and the smartest person he knows. Tempesta plans to celebrate the end of lockdown by drinking, wandering Turin, and watching the sunrise on the Po river at Murazzi.
