Adam Budak Curates V Biennale Gherdëina in Ortisei
The fifth Biennale Gherdëina, named From Here to Eternity / Da qui all’eternità, will take place in Ortisei from July 22 to September 11, 2016. Curated by Adam Budak from the National Gallery in Prague, the exhibition showcases twelve global artists, including Stephan Balkenhol, Michele Bernardi, Katinka Bock, and others. Artworks will be displayed at the Circolo Artistico e Culturale di Ortisei and in the pedestrian zone, with some pieces specifically created with local artisans. Budak notes the title coincidentally aligns with Giorgio Moroder's 1977 album, highlighting Moroder's roots in Ortisei. The exhibition examines themes of movement, vernacular, and migration, aiming to connect local culture to a broader, timeless context.
