ADA Gallery Relocates to Trastevere, Gains Independence
ADA, a gallery founded in July 2017 by Carla Chiarchiaro and Rolando Anselmi, has moved from its hybrid space at Galleria Rolando Anselmi in Rome to a new independent location in Trastevere at Via dei Genovesi 35. The gallery, which originally operated on a bimonthly basis, now has its own dedicated space for continuous programming. Chiarchiaro has been the sole director since September 2018. The new venue, a ground-floor space in an ancient building, features a vaulted ceiling, checkered floor, and a peculiar underground room. The exhibition area is an irregular square with a street-facing window. The inaugural show, "Il Damerino" by Giuseppe Abate, opens February 8 and explores late 19th-century European salons, colonial trophies, and contemporary power dynamics. ADA continues to focus on young Italian talents but will also collaborate with international artists. The move to Trastevere aims to benefit from the district's concentration of galleries and facilitate visitor access.
