Accademia IUAD Launches New Film and Audiovisual Course in Campania

The Accademia IUAD (Institute of Universal Art and Design) has opened a new three-year degree course in Film and Advertising Direction in Campania, responding to the region's booming film industry. Italy's film production surged from about 100 films in 2000 to over 2,500 in 2022, with Campania—especially Naples—emerging as a key hub. Productions like L'Amica Geniale, Gomorra, I bastardi di Pizzofalcone, Sense 8, Mixed by Erry, and Mare Fuori have been shot there, supported by a local film office and favorable regulations. A new Audiovisual District, a 10,000-square-meter facility styled after Cinecittà, is set to open in the former NATO base of Bagnoli, known as the "Cittadella del Cinema di Napoli." The IUAD course aims to train directors, screenwriters, art directors, copywriters, video and content makers, producers, set designers, editors, colorists, and graphic artists. It covers all production stages from budgeting and pre-production to post-production and distribution, using advanced equipment including a soundstage, lighting, camera cranes, cameras, blue and green screens, remote directing, and editing stations.
