Accademia di Catania Students Design Posters for Liberation Day

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The Accademia di Belle Arti di Catania presents 'Progettare per resistere', an itinerant exhibition of posters created by 31 students from the biennial program in Design and Visual Communication, curated by president Lina Scalisi and professor Gianni Latino. Inspired by Holocaust survivor and senator Liliana Segre's words on memory as a vaccine against indifference, the posters commemorate Italy's Liberation Day (April 25) and the values of the Resistance. The works are displayed in public spaces across Catania, Siracusa, Ragusa, and Noto. Latino described the project as a single, long narrative manifesto to cultivate memory and combat indifference, emphasizing that remembering is a duty for every citizen. The exhibition runs until the end of the month.
