Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna's Open Tour Invades 28 Galleries with Nearly 30 Exhibitions

exhibition · 2026-04-26

For the tenth consecutive year, the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna has taken over 28 galleries and private spaces in the city with its Open Tour, a festival that bridges student research and public exhibition. Among the highlights are two shows that transform galleries into spaces of personal and environmental reflection. At Galleria Studio G7, the exhibition "Metaskēnē," curated by Collettivo Urano (Veronica Camastra, Iacopo Cotalini, Mariarosa Cuccitto, Neva Reali), received a special mention from the ArtUp prize jury, promoted by Fondazione Zucchelli. It features works by artists James Hillman and Aleksandar Petkov alongside students Ermes Armellini and Martina Ferraraccio. The show creates a metaphysical landscape exploring boundaries between material and immaterial. At P420 Art Gallery, Massimo Bartolini, artist of the Italian Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale, curates "Tre angoli, una porta e una colonna" with sculpture biennium students Sara Cortesi, Dilan Persian, Tommaso Silvestroni, Anna Tappari, and Federico Zamboni. The exhibition uses sculpture, installation, sound, and video to engage with the surrounding space. Works include Anna Tappari's sound installation "Ti Suonano I Capelli" (2024), Tommaso Silvestroni's concrete piece "Fontana II" (2023), Sara Cortesi's organic architecture "Falena" (2024), and Federico Zamboni's natural material transformations. The festival runs across multiple venues in Bologna.
