Accademia Carrara launches dedicated children's exhibition series
Accademia Carrara in Bergamo has concluded 'Arte e Natura Kids', its first exhibition expressly for children, and plans to continue the initiative. The show, curated by Lucia Cecio and Martina Moretti, opened on October 10, 2025, and featured real artworks from the museum's storage chosen for their supports (stone, copper, wood, canvas). Works were hung lower for children, with custom drawers containing objects to explore via magnifying glasses and touch. The project involved collaboration with the University of Bergamo and three master's students. Evaluation results from 52 adult questionnaires showed 50% were first-time visitors, over 70% visited with children, and 4 out of 10 came specifically for the kids' show. Interactivity scored 4.47/5, atmosphere 4.53/5, and children's autonomy 4.34/5. The next children's exhibition is planned for February. Cecio, head of Educational Services and Audience Development, emphasized multisensory and inclusive approaches, building on the earlier 'Valori tattili' accessibility project for blind people. The initiative aims to make the museum a shared well-being experience.
