Accademia Carrara Brings Art to Alpine Huts with Mountain Hikes
The Accademia Carrara in Bergamo has introduced 'La Carrara in Alta Quota', a summer initiative that merges art with hiking, running from July to August 2023. Reproductions of famous artworks are exhibited in seventeen CAI mountain huts throughout the Bergamo Alps, with six of these huts providing complimentary guided hikes. This initiative complements the 'Vette di Luce' exhibition at the Accademia Carrara, which is open until September 3, 2023, and marks the 150th anniversary of the CAI’s Bergamo section. Several huts have been renamed in honor of artists, such as Rifugio Antonio Curò Hayez and Rifugio Albani Mantegna. The second hike on July 23 took participants to Rifugio Antonio Curò Hayez, featuring Hayez's 1842 artwork. Additional hikes are scheduled until August 27, with Maria Cristina Rodeschini and Gianpietro Bonaldi managing the project.
