Accademia Carrara Bergamo unveils two-year program Mondo Carrara

Accademia Carrara in Bergamo has initiated a two-year exhibition series titled Mondo Carrara under the leadership of new director Maria Luisa Pacelli. The program commences with a tribute to Lorenzo Lotto, marking 500 years since his exit from Bergamo. From April to August 2025, visitors can view the San Bernardino altarpiece, which has been off-limits due to church restoration. This will be complemented by a photographic exhibition from Axel Hütte. A focus on painting on stone will take place from October 2025 to January 2026, featuring loans from Galleria Borghese and others. The Colleoni tarot deck will be showcased from February to June 2026, reuniting 74 cards. The series will wrap up with a tribute to Count Giacomo Carrara in late 2026 to early 2027, alongside various workshops and special projects.
