Academy Museum Gala 2026 to Honor Carpenter, Domingo, Theron

This year, they’re honoring filmmaker and composer John Carpenter, two-time Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, and Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Theron will receive the prestigious Icon Award, Carpenter will be given the Luminary Award, and Domingo will take home the Vantage Award. The event supports the museum's goal of celebrating and preserving cinema, with funds going towards exhibitions, education, and public screenings. Plus, on August 22, Theron will join the museum’s Teen Council for a discussion and a screening of Mad Max: Fury Road.
