Academy Launches $500M Global Campaign Ahead of 100th Oscars

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has launched Academy100, a $500 million international campaign to secure its future ahead of the 100th Oscars ceremony in 2028. Bill Kramer, CEO of the Academy, announced the initiative in Rome alongside President Janet Yung and Academy Museum Director Jacqueline Stewart, in collaboration with Cinecittà. The campaign aims to increase the Academy's global presence and impact, fund programs that reward talent and innovation in cinema, preserve film history, organize exhibitions and screenings, educate a diverse generation of international filmmakers, and produce digital content. Events will take place in Buenos Aires, Cannes, Johannesburg, Kyoto, Lagos, London, Los Angeles, Marrakesh, Melbourne, Mexico City, Mumbai, New York, Rome, San Francisco, Seoul, Toronto, Toruń, and Venice. The Academy Museum will present special exhibitions, film series, and publications starting in 2027. Kramer emphasized the need for sustainable and diversified support, thanking Rolex and other partners for their backing. The initiative reflects the Academy's growing globalization and its effort to foster a new generation of filmmakers and members worldwide.
