Abu Dhabi Art Fair Returns for 8th Edition with 40 Exhibitors

The eighth edition of Abu Dhabi Art fair will take place from November 16 to 19, featuring 40 exhibitors from 20 countries, with a focus on modern and contemporary art and a rich curatorial program. The fair follows Artissima by one week, Frieze and FIAC by one month, and precedes Art Basel Miami Beach by two weeks. A key component is the Gateway exhibition program, which this year includes a large installation by Beijing-based artist Gu Dexin, curated by Alexandra Munroe, and a show on modern Arab art curated by Catherine David from the Centre Pompidou. A group exhibition titled Re Birth, curated by Fabrice Bosteau, explores emerging and established art through a thematic lens. Within the public program, Italian artist and performer Anna Rispoli (of Zimmerfrei) will present an interactive performance with the local community. Curator Reem Fadda of the Guggenheim Foundation's Middle Eastern section will host a cultural salon connecting over 100 international and regional collectors, museum directors, artists, curators, gallerists, and writers to explore the UAE art scene. Italian participation includes Galleria Continua with a stand and a special project on Michelangelo Pistoletto in the Modern & Contemporary section, where Lisson Gallery presents Wael Shawky. Giorgio Persano appears in the Beyond section with large-scale works by Lawrence Weiner.
