Abu Dhabi Art 2023: Sustainability, Commissions, and Global Art Histories
Dyala Nusseibeh has been the Director of Abu Dhabi Art since 2016, and she's been reflecting on how the fair has evolved as it approaches the 2023 edition. Launched in 2007 by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the fair has grown a lot, drawing in galleries thanks to the city's cultural developments like the Louvre and Guggenheim. They encourage public participation throughout the year with various workshops and partnerships. This year's event will include sections focused on modern and contemporary art, along with Community Projects from Nadine Maalouf. New works will feature "Al Ain Oasis" by Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim and "Artifacts of the Current Moments" by Nujoom Alghanem, plus Hashel Al Lamki's "Maqam" survey and the curated exhibition for emerging artists by Morad Montazami.
