Absolut Art Collection's Photography Focus at Stockholm's Spiritmuseum

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The Absolut Art Collection, comprising 850 works by 550 artists created between 1986 and 2004, is presented annually at Stockholm's Spiritmuseum with a specific thematic focus. This summer's exhibition, titled 'Photo', highlights photography with 60 works by 23 international artists from the art and fashion worlds. The collection originated in 1985 when Andy Warhol was commissioned to create advertisements for the brand. Featured works include Helmut Newton's fashion photograph of model Kristen McMenamy in southern Sweden, Herb Ritts's icy shoot at the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi with Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and Marcus Schenkenberg, and Annie Leibovitz's complete celebrity portrait series for Vanity Fair's millennium special, depicting Sarah Jessica Parker, Spike Lee, and Tom Ford. The exhibition runs until October 2, 2019.
