Abre Alas 21 Exhibition at A Gentil Carioca Features 14 Artists Selected by Curatorial Committee
From February 7 to April 18, 2026, A Gentil Carioca gallery in Rio de Janeiro will host Abre Alas 21, marking its 21st annual exhibition. A selection committee comprising Felipe Molitor, Lena Solà Nogué, and Ramon Martins has curated a group of 14 artists, featuring names such as Ana Luiza Domicent, Ana V. Lopes, and David Caicedo Alzate, showcasing a variety of contemporary practices. This exhibition, which traditionally coincides with Carnival, signifies the beginning of the gallery's exhibition year. Founded in 2004 by Márcio Botner, Laura Lima, and Ernesto Neto, Abre Alas has transformed into a celebration of care and creativity. The gallery is located at Rua Gonçalves Lédo, 17, and is open Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 12:00 to 16:00 by appointment.
