exhibition · 2026-04-20

Abraham Cruzvillegas's largest exhibition, named The Autoconstrucción Suites and curated by Clara Kim, is now open at Museo Jumex in Mexico City and Museo Amparo in Puebla. At Museo Jumex, visitors can see Demolición (2014), a performance featuring Huasteco musicians. Meanwhile, Museo Amparo showcases a new installation called Reconstrucción del retrato de mi gemelo cholulteca, created in partnership with local students. This exhibition builds on a previous one from 2013 at the Walker Art Center. Cruzvillegas's work reflects the idea of autoconstrucción, blending ancient and modern elements with found objects, and includes several pieces that haven’t been displayed in Mexico before, offering a rich immersive experience.
