Abhijan Toto's Multicity Exhibition A Few In Many Places Explores Solidarity Beyond Artworld Circulation

exhibition · 2026-04-20

Abhijan Toto, the curator and co-founder of Forest Curriculum alongside Pujita Guha, has organized the exhibition titled A Few In Many Places, which will be on display from 8 May to 8 August in cities such as Seoul, Bangkok, Istanbul, New York, Santurce, and Guatemala City. This exhibition explores themes of violence through collective experiences. Splitting his time between Seoul and Bangkok, Toto received the 10th Premio Lorenzo Bonaldi per l'Arte – EnterPrize in May 2019 for his work In The Forest, Even The Air Breathes, which draws inspiration from Zomia to challenge extractivism. Established in 2018, the Forest Curriculum emphasizes indigenous communities, with current partners including Jorge González and Welcome to Ogasawara. Toto is also working on a critical indigenous design lab in Australia and Bangkok, promoting 'indisciplinarity.'
