Abbi cura di te: Domestic Exhibitions as Wunderkammer
Curators Giulia Mura (Superficial Studio, Rome) and Maddalena d'Alfonso (Md'A Agency, Milan) launched "Abbi cura di te" during the pandemic, inviting architects and museographers to create small domestic exhibition projects. The project evolved from an initial reaction to lockdown into an ongoing archive of visual responses. Over three seasons, about sixty contributions were collected, with themes shifting from introspection (#imagination, #memory, #dream) to outward-looking (#reality). The curators noted a change in process and objectives: the first season's works were instinctive, while later contributions became more mature. The project expanded internationally with the inclusion of London-based independent curator Farah Piriye. A fourth season will focus on inclusivity. The curators aim to create a physical exhibition and catalog. Mura expressed surprise at the projects' delicacy and empathy, while d'Alfonso felt joy in connecting with others' thoughts.
