Abandoned Car Wash in Turin Becomes Exhibition Space for ZatCrepuscolare
On October 10, 2025, a vacant car wash located at Via Cigna and Via Sassari in Turin transformed into an open-air showcase for ZatCrepuscolare, marking the inaugural event of Carrozzeria delle Rose. This exhibition features the work of artist Miriam Montani Magrelli, with curation by Francesca Disconzi. Operating without official permits, the initiative confronts bureaucratic challenges related to public art. Montani Magrelli's contributions, drawn from her series Lacrimosa, Pianto senza dolore, utilize dried onion skins to delve into shared traumas, referencing urban landmarks such as Cavallerizza Reale and Rondò della Forca. One artwork expresses the wait for a residence permit through a mathematical formula inscribed on onion skin. The project aspires to broaden its reach and seeks alternative venues for urban artistic expression, framed as a form of cultural resistance.
