A-PQ 31.37: Suspended Open-Baffle Loudspeaker System by Hagar Guri
Hagar Guri, a designer, has introduced the A-PQ 31.37, an innovative suspended loudspeaker system that showcases its acoustic and structural components. Crafted from a single pressed sheet of Concrete Canvas, each speaker features a seamless curved shell that combines strength with a lightweight design, functioning as both an acoustic instrument and a piece of art. The unique asymmetrical baffle geometry minimizes acoustic interference, while the open design facilitates sound dispersion. Hanging from steel cables, the speakers give the illusion of floating above the ground. Accompanying this system is a bespoke control unit equipped with digital signal processing, preamplification, and analogue controls. The project was submitted to designboom and edited by Christina Vergopoulou.
