A-nrd Transforms 19th-Century Glasgow Building Into Arthouse Glasgow Hotel
London-based studio A-nrd, founded by Alessio Nardi and Lukas Persakovas, has converted a 19th-century listed building on Glasgow's Bath Street into Arthouse Glasgow, a 76-key lifestyle hotel conceived as an "artist's residence." The project preserves original features like a birdcage lift, timber panelling, stained-glass windows, and flooring, while introducing a restrained material palette referencing Glasgow's industrial heritage. Guestrooms range from compact "pocket" rooms to suites, featuring bespoke joinery and platform beds. Furniture includes contemporary and vintage pieces reupholstered in collaboration with Bute Fabrics, a Scottish textile mill. Art curated with Patricia Fleming Gallery showcases works by Scottish artists throughout the spaces. The ground floor houses a lounge, reception, and a restaurant by Celentano's, operated by Dean and Anna Parker. The hotel is located near the Glasgow School of Art.
