A Night of a Lifetime Exhibition at SAMoCA Explores Marriage's Complexities with Over 30 Artists
Running until 18 April, SAMoCA showcases 'A Night of a Lifetime,' a collective exhibition curated by Alaa Tarabzouni and Philippe Castro. This event features the works of over 30 artists from Saudi Arabia, the SWANA region, and Europe, delving into the theme of marriage through diverse artistic mediums. Ayman Yossri Daydaban presents an updated performance titled 'Standing' (2012-26), while Aziz Jamal's 'Hearts, bear witness' (2026) includes a pastel kosha stage. Hoda Alnasir’s fountain, 'Aqua vitae' (2025), alludes to the Ghasl Al Finjan ritual. Additional pieces include Reem Al Nasser's 'Seven Sisters' (2026), Rami Farook's 'A Few Hours Before the Wedding' (2015–25), and Sultan Bin Fahd's 'To Dust' (2019). The exhibition conveys a blend of optimism and caution, highlighting the vulnerability inherent in marriage.
