A.I. Artisanal Intelligence Supports 'Work Where' at Pitti Uomo in Florence

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The project A.I. Artisanal Intelligence, born within Altaroma and curated by Clara Tosi Pamphili and Alessio de' Navasques, is supporting the exhibition 'Work Where – Artisans of the Oltrarno' at Galleria Ceri in Florence until June 15, during Pitti Immagine Uomo. The show features Florentine artists whose work embodies traditional craftsmanship and savoir faire. Photographer Marcin Gierat contributes authorial shots, while Alessandro Possati curated the initiative and documented artisans through video interviews. The exhibition blends portrait technique with technology using the wet collodion process, a printing method from over two centuries ago, first employed by Frederick Scott Archer in 1851 and Gustave Le Gray at the Great Exhibition at the Crystal Palace in London. The display includes not only photography but also sculpture and painting, positioning images as a form of art akin to design. A.I. Artisanal Intelligence continues its scouting mission, promoting emerging creativity at Pitti 94. The project will reappear at the summer edition of Altaroma, following its winter presentation at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome.
