A Convening of Civic Poets at KADIST Paris Explores Art and Palestinian Solidarity
'A Convening of Civic Poets,' curated by Hoor Al Qasimi and Julia Morandeira Arrizabalaga, explores the intersection of art and civic participation, particularly regarding Palestine, at KADIST Paris. This exhibition is a joint effort between the Sharjah Art Foundation, directed by Hoor Al Qasimi since 2009, and KADIST, a non-profit established by Vincent Worms and Sandra Terdjman two decades ago. The Palestine section, which opened just prior to the Gaza crisis, has garnered significant attention. Featured works include Bouchra Khalili's 'Twenty-Two Hours' (2018) and Manthia Diawara's 'Angela Davis: A World of Greater Freedom' (2023). Additionally, Radio Alhara and The Learning Palestine Group showcase 'Learning Palestine_Until Liberation' (2023), a 12-hour mixtape, while Hajer Ben Boubaker's 'Barbès Blues' (2020) podcast focuses on North African migrants in France. The exhibition is on display until 4 February 2024.
