A Cielo Aperto: Public Art and Community Collaboration in Latronico

On August 18, 2016, the Vincenzo De Luca association in Latronico, Basilicata, marked a decade of the A Cielo Aperto initiative, which has woven contemporary art into the fabric of the town. This endeavor resulted in various permanent installations, thanks to the teamwork of curators, artists, and local residents. In 2016, Postmedia Books released a publication titled "A Cielo Aperto, pratiche di collaborazione nell'arte contemporanea a Latronico," edited by Bianco-Valente and Pasquale Campanella, which explores the project's underlying philosophy. Among the significant artworks are Bianco-Valente's "Ogni dove" (2015), Michele Giangrande's "Il Faro" (2009), Eugenio Tibaldi's "Una bandiera per Latronico" (2010-11), Stefano Boccalini's "Una parola su Latronico" (2011), and Virginia Zanetti's "Gli occhi del mondo" (2013).
