A Cielo Aperto: Four Public Artworks by Eliasson, Pistoletto, Nkanga, Philipsz in Langhe

exhibition · 2026-04-27

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Fondazione CRC introduced A Cielo Aperto, a public art initiative in collaboration with the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea. In 2022, four artists—Olafur Eliasson, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Otobong Nkanga, and Susan Philipsz—crafted site-specific installations for Cuneo, Alba, Bra, and Mondovì. The project commenced on June 25 with Eliasson's sculpture, The presence of absence pavilion, unveiled at the Belvedere garden, alongside a concert featuring Uto Ughi. Pistoletto's piece is scheduled for September, Nkanga's installation will be displayed in Bra from September to October, and Philipsz's sound installation will debut in November. To fund social initiatives, a Barolo en primeur auction is planned for October 28.
