A Casa do Parque Opens in São Paulo with Politically Charged Inaugural Exhibition

On March 23, São Paulo's Alto de Pinheiros neighborhood welcomed A Casa do Parque, a new cultural venue established by collector Regina Pinho de Almeida. This institution enhances the initiatives of the Instituto de Cultura Contemporâneo (ICCo), which was founded in 2009. The opening exhibit, "Tensão Relações Cordiais," curated by Tadeu Chiarelli, showcases works from Pinho de Almeida's collection, featuring artists such as Jenny Holzer, Hildebrando de Castro, and Estela Sokol. The title alludes to Paulo Climachauska’s critique of Brazilian "cordiality." Chiarelli notes the exhibition reflects today's political climate, set in a dimly lit space designed by Pedro Mendes da Rocha. Located at Avenida Fonseca Rodrigues, 1300, the institution plans a literary festival with SP Leituras and offers free admission until June 30.
