9th Book Day at Académie nationale de médecine: The Ultimate Work and Medicine

The Académie nationale de médecine in Paris will host its ninth Book Day on Friday, September 16, 2011, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, revisiting the 2010 theme 'The Ultimate Work and Medicine.' The event aims to bridge artistic creation with medical facts, focusing on masterpieces created by artists at the end of their lives, as defined by Gaëtan Picon. New subjects include works by Manet, Klee, Dufy, Picasso, Caravaggio, Louis Bourgeois, Brancusi, Giacometti, and Pina Bausch. The program expands to theater with Cesare Capitani and Laetitia Favart performing 'Moi, Caravage,' and dance with Bénédicte Billiet presenting 'Les rêves dansants, Pina.'
