7th Moscow Biennale Explores AI and Tradition at Tretyakov Gallery

The New Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow is hosting the 7th Moscow Biennale, named Clouds ⇄ Forest, which will be open until January 18, 2018. Curated by Yuko Hasegawa, the event showcases the work of 51 artists from more than 20 nations, delving into both digital and traditional art forms. The theme juxtaposes "Clouds," representing electronic media and AI, with "Forest," symbolizing traditional techniques. Notable works include Co(AI)xistance by Justine Emard and Mirai Moriyama, Space Garden by Michael Najjar, video installations by Susan Schuppli, and The Two Webs by Louise Drulhe. Other participants are Ryan Trecartin and Pierre Huyghe, while Bahar Behbahani's Garden coup reflects on the 1953 Iranian coup. The opening attracted over 3,000 visitors, highlighting the ongoing tensions between Russia's cultural landscape and its political framework.
