72-Acre English Polo Estate with Stables and Clubhouses Lists for $26.8 Million

The 72-acre Winkfield estate near Windsor, England, home to the Four Quarters polo team, has been listed for $26.8 million (£20 million) with UK Sotheby's International Realty. The property, known as Emsworth Polo Grounds, includes 13 buildings, two clubhouses, six stable blocks for about 120 horses, a riding arena, training track, outdoor arena, jump course, and two private irrigation lakes. The main residence, GoDown House, features five bedrooms and modern interiors with slatted wood walls and glass expanses. A gatehouse accommodates up to seven staff. The estate was owned by Simon Arber and his wife Romilla, founder and CEO of Honesty Group. The Four Quarters team won their fifth Royal Windsor Cup in 2022 at Guards Polo Club, a 12-minute drive away. Polo stars Adolfo Cambiaso and his son Adolfo "Poroto" Cambiaso Jr. have trained on site. The Arbers raised their children there and are selling to focus on other priorities. The polo team will not continue on the grounds after the sale, offering a new owner the chance to shape the estate's future. Strict development protections in the Windsor-Ascot corridor make such properties increasingly scarce, according to Alex Isidro, managing director of UK Sotheby's International Real Estate.
