70 artists honor late gallerist Silvano Gherlone in Turin group show

The exhibition titled 'A Silvano. 35 anni alla Galleria Davico' is currently being held at Galleria Fogliato in Turin, celebrating the legacy of gallerist Silvano Gherlone (1931–2021), who managed Galleria Davico from 1970 until 2004. Running until March 29, the show showcases works from 70 artists, featuring notable figures like Ottavio Mazzonis and Italo Cremona, alongside emerging talents such as Aron Demetz. The exhibition was curated by artist Sabatino Cersosimo, in collaboration with Anna Lequio and Fiorenzo Sarzano. Galleria Davico, established in 1970 and initially co-led by Vittorio Davico, saw Gherlone take over as the sole director in 1988. Critic Gianfranco Schialvino referred to the gallery, designed by Danilo Nubioli, as a 'jewel box,' highlighting its emphasis on figurative painting. Gherlone was renowned for his welcoming nature and deep understanding of the art market.
