7 Must-See Biennials Around the World This Summer 2018

The Liverpool Biennial celebrates its 20th anniversary with the theme 'Beautiful World, where are you?', featuring over 40 artists from 22 nations, curated by Kitty Scott and Sally Tallant. The 10th Berlin Biennale, titled 'We don’t need another hero', runs until September 9 across multiple venues including Akademie der Künste and KW Institute for Contemporary Art, curated by Gabi Ngcobo. The 2nd Bruges Triennale, 'Città Liquida', invites artists and architects to collaborate until September 16. LAM 360° – Land Art Mongolia opens July 30 in Daringanga Sum, focusing on land art as political and social reflection. The 21st Paiz Art Biennial in Guatemala City, curated by Gerardo Mosquera, opens August 16 with a decentralized, rhizomatic approach. SITElines in Santa Fe, New Mexico, runs from August 3 to January 2019, addressing immigration themes. Open Spaces in Kansas City, curated by Dan Cameron, launches August 25 with over 100 artists and 40 installations.
