6AM's glass installations transform abandoned Milanese pool house for design week

exhibition · 2026-04-22

Murano glass studio 6AM has taken over the abandoned Piscina Guido Romano in Milan for the city's design week, presenting an exhibition titled "Over and Over and Over and Over" that runs from 19 to 26 April 2026. The 1929 rationalist complex, designed by Luigi Lorenzo Secchi, features a central hall that once housed an indoor swimming pool, now filled with 6AM's glass creations. Among the highlights are two monolithic columns nearly five meters tall, one vivid blue with silvery reflections from manganese traces and another black streaked with white, rising from former changing rooms. The exhibition also includes the studio's Paysage walls, a structural system by local architect Hannes Peer composed of hand-textured glass plates, including a rare black limited-edition wall that was produced during the final melt of a furnace about to be dismantled. Candy-like glass cubes originally made for Bottega Veneta's Spring Summer 2026 fashion show are installed in a floor-to-ceiling transparent glass wall in the central hall. Other pieces include sconce lamps in striped and transparent patterns, amorphous glass stools on a reflective platform, and a glowing exit sign inspired by 1920s emergency lamps. This is 6AM's second intervention in a Milanese pool house; last year they exhibited in the basement of Piscina Cozzi.
