68 artiste internazionali a Bari per una mostra sulle mestruazioni

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The Vallisa Auditorium in Bari is currently hosting an exhibition titled 'Il sangue delle donne. Tracce di rosso sul panno bianco,' which Manuela de Leonardis curated, featuring the works of 68 artists from around the globe. This exhibition stems from research that started back in 2014 and has already been shown in cities like Zagreb, Rome, L'Aquila, and Perugia. Each artist received a piece of linen to explore often-ignored women's issues such as birth, puberty, motherhood, menopause, sexuality, violence, and femicide. Among the prominent contributors are Ilaria Abbiento, Takoua Ben Mohamed, and Deborah Willis. The Pasquale Battista Foundation supported the production of an accompanying book. This project comes at a time when Nuvenia has made waves by openly addressing menstruation in its advertisements.
