65-Hour Art Marathon at Rome's Mandrione District
From noon on October 29 to midnight on October 31, 2021, the Mandrione district in Rome hosted a 65-hour non-stop art event titled 'There Is No Place Like Home.' Curated by Giuliana Benassi, the exhibition transformed a former Chinotto Neri factory—later a boxing gym—into an extraordinary exhibition space. The venue, squeezed between railway lines and an ancient Roman aqueduct, featured site-specific works by contemporary Roman artists. Installations, videos, paintings, sound pieces, and performances guided visitors through the space both day and night. The event aimed to foster dialogue between artists, the territory, and the public. Since 2014, the 'There Is No Place Like Home' format has chosen unconventional spaces far from traditional cultural venues.
