festival-fair · 2026-04-26

The 60th October Salon, also known as the Belgrade Biennale, commenced in Belgrade, Serbia, under the theme "Che cosa rimane? / What's Left?" Three international curatorial teams are involved. "Trace," led by Lorenzo Balbi and Dobrila Denegri, focuses on creating temporary public spaces for artists. "Aesthetic(s) of Encounter(s)," curated by Matthieu Lelièvre and Maja Kolari, highlights the potential for artistic exchange. "Hope is a Discipline," curated by Lina Džuverović, Emilia Epštajn, and Ana Knežević, presents hope as an active force. The event explores issues such as climate change and precarity. With over forty artists participating, the Salon includes exhibitions, performances, and discussions across nine venues. Established in 1960, it became an international biennial in 2014.
