600 original Akira cels on display in Osaka

A major exhibition of the legendary anime film Akira opens at SPACE14 in Shinsaibashi PARCO, Osaka, from October 6 to 24, 2023. Organized by director Katsuhiro Otomo himself, the show features 600 original cel drawings, storyboards, illustrations, and layouts from the 1988 film, which celebrates its 35th anniversary. The exhibition is divided into three sections: 'Neo Tokyo,' 'Night-Mare,' and 'Catastrophe Theory.' Following a successful run in Tokyo, this iteration offers limited-edition merchandise and a new way to experience the masterpiece of Japanese animation.
