57 individuals and 20 organisations face potential charges over Grenfell Tower fire

On Tuesday, British police revealed plans to request prosecutors to evaluate potential charges against 57 individuals and 20 organizations for criminal activities linked to the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017, which resulted in 72 fatalities. The Metropolitan Police aims to deliver evidence files by the end of September, with charging decisions anticipated by June 14, 2027—the tenth anniversary of the tragedy. Possible charges include corporate gross negligence manslaughter, fraud, and violations of health and safety regulations. This investigation, noted as the most extensive and complicated in the history of the force, has reviewed 165 million electronic files and investigated the actions of 15,000 individuals and 700 organizations.
