50 Years of Milanese Homes Documented in Villa Necchi Campiglio Exhibition
The exhibition titled 'Case Milanesi 1923-1973. Immagini di una città' is set to debut at Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, a residence crafted by architect Piero Portaluppi in the early 1930s for sisters Nedda and Gigina Necchi and Angelo Campiglio, which has been a FAI property since 2001. Curated by Orsina Simona Pierini and Alessandro Isastia, who also authored the book 'Case Milanesi 1923-1973' published by Ulrico Hoepli Editore, the exhibition examines fifty years of residential architecture in Milan through technical documents and cultural contributions selected by Alberto Saibene. It features a large map on the vestibule floor illustrating the urban 'geography' of homes, alongside a focus on architects like Giovanni Muzio and Gio Ponti. Additionally, a scenic installation by Alessandro Isastia and guided city tours with curators enhance the experience.
