50 Borghese masterpieces move to Palazzo Barberini during renovation

From March 29 to June 30, 2024, Palazzo Barberini in Rome will showcase 50 masterpieces while Galleria Borghese is being renovated with support from Italy's PNRR. The exhibition, titled 'Raffaello, Tiziano, Rubens. Capolavori dalla Galleria Borghese a Palazzo Barberini,' includes works by renowned artists such as Raphael, Titian, Botticelli, Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Rubens, and Veronese. This initiative, announced by Thomas Clement Salomon, Francesca Cappelletti, and Massimo Osanna, was executed within two months. Renovation efforts encompass facade restoration, new fixtures, energy-efficient lighting, and improved accessibility. Additionally, Palazzo Barberini will receive PNRR funding for enhancements. Discounted tickets for both museums will be available during the exhibition, with Osanna highlighting the significance of making Italy's art accessible.
