5 international art opportunities: calls, prizes, residencies
Artribune Jobs highlights five open calls for artists and creatives abroad. Slideluck Editorial launches its third photography open call themed 'Everything is connected,' offering a €1,000 scholarship and a touring exhibition across the UK, Netherlands, Italy, Nigeria, and Uruguay, culminating at LagosPhoto Festival in November 2020. The Future Generation Art Prize, established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009, opens its sixth edition for artists under 35, with a $60,000 prize plus $40,000 production budget, and an exhibition at PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv and the Venice Biennale; winners announced March 2021. Fogo Island Arts in Newfoundland, Canada, offers 6–8 week residencies in 2021–2022 for visual artists, filmmakers, writers, musicians, curators, designers, and intellectuals, including accommodation, studio, vehicle, weekly stipend, and travel expenses, with a public presentation required. The European ETI call (Expérimenter une Transformation Institutionnelle), led by École Nationale d'Art de Paris and involving Fondazione Bottari Lattes as Italian partner, invites artists to propose innovative cultural formats for institutions, partnering with private entities, culminating in a Paris forum in September 2021. The Italy–Argentina Art Prize offers two Italian artists under 35 a one-month residency in Buenos Aires, including airfare, insurance, and production costs, timed with ArteBa fair in April 2020; deadline March 15, 2020.
