5 ephemeral theaters for Rome's Estate Romana by young European architects

Future Architecture Platform, a program involving 18 European institutions supporting young architecture, partners with Rome's 40th anniversary of Estate Romana to create five ephemeral installations serving as temporary museums dedicated to cinema, music, literature, theater, and media. The selected studios—Microcities / Socks-studio (Italy/France), Lucia Tahan (Spain), BNGRT (Germany), FAKT (Germany), and Studio NO (Poland)—were introduced by curator Pippo Ciorra and compared with Italian studios La Macchina Studio, Supervoid, Warehouse of Architecture and Research, Fosbury Architecture, and scientific consultant Luca Galofaro. The temporary museums will be ideally placed near five abandoned cinemas in Rome: Rialto, Avorio, Apollo, Troisi, and Airone. In September, during the first Seoul Biennale of Architecture, the projects and historical documents on Estate Romana and the 1970s Parco Centrale will be exhibited. MAXXI also held a workshop from July 10 to 15 for participants to finalize materials for Seoul and create five artist books.
