400 private historic residences open to public across Italy on May 27

On May 27, 2018, Saturday, the National Day organized by the Italian Historic Houses Association will grant public access to around 400 private historic homes across 16 regions in Italy. This marks the eighth occurrence of the event, aligning with the European Year of Cultural Heritage and Private Heritage Week. The regions taking part are Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, Apulia, Sicily, Tuscany, Trentino Alto Adige, Umbria, and Veneto. Gaddo della Gherardesca, the Association's President, emphasized the importance of this initiative in highlighting Italy's private cultural legacy. Significant openings will feature palaces in Rome, Milan, and Florence, complemented by local activities such as food festivals and exhibitions.
