36th Panorama da Arte Brasileira Explores Sertão as Conceptual Territory

Curator Júlia Rebouças is launching the 36th Panorama da Arte Brasileira on August 17, presenting it as a mindset rather than just a location. Partnering with Risco Studio, the exhibition will create an inviting space for visitors to interact with various artworks and discover their connections. Among the 29 featured artists, Raquel Versieux will take attendees to the Cariri cearense with her Manejo Movente project, which includes community gatherings with Elis Rigoni. Gabi Bresola and Mariana Berta provide a 14-hour bus ticket to the Surungo dance ball in Joaçaba. Additionally, Gervane de Paula’s works, like Arte Aqui Eu Mato (2016), utilize local materials to engage with critical themes, while other artists explore identity and social issues. Rebouças emphasizes the exhibition's aim for decentralization, stating that intelligence exists beyond traditional centers.
