33 Namibian Artists Show at Art Forum Würth Capena

The exhibition 'Namibia. Arte di una giovane generazione' at Art Forum Würth Capena presents 80 works by 33 artists born and working in Namibia, running until October 14, 2023. The show, previously held at the Würth Museum in Künzelsau in 2016, features artists of different generations: some were children when Namibia gained independence in 1990, while others witnessed the SWAPO-led liberation struggle. The works address themes of cultural identity in a post-colonial context marked by poverty and inequality, but also reflect individual poetic visions blending tradition with contemporary influences. The collection belongs to the Würth family's corporate collection, started in the 1960s with a watercolor by Emil Nolde and now comprising over 18,500 works. The venue, Art Forum Würth Capena, is near Rome and close to the archaeological sites of Lucus Feroniae and Villa dei Volusii.
