32nd São Paulo Bienal Announces 54 Artists for 2016 'Live Uncertainty' Exhibition
The 32nd Bienal de São Paulo, titled 'Incerteza viva' (Live uncertainty), will explore contemporary life's conditions and artistic strategies for embracing uncertainty. Curated by Jochen Volz, the exhibition will feature approximately 90 artists and collectives, with an initial list of 54 participants released. The event will take place from 10 September to 12 December 2016 at the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion. Among the announced artists are Francis Alÿs, Pierre Huyghe, Hito Steyerl, and Rachel Rose, alongside numerous international and Brazilian practitioners. The biennial aims to examine how art can harbor or inhabit uncertainty in the current era.
